The central vertical stroke goes last:




This character(しゃ/くるま), meaning vehicle, is a great example.

It not only exemplifies the above principle, but you can see the principles of left - to - right strokes as well.

Mnemonic: This character is a pictograph of a two-wheeled cart (a vehicle) as seen from above.
